A not-for-profit, voluntary health organization whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Provides public education programs that inform people how to reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke. The American Heart Association also acts as an advocate to promote health as well as assure medical research funding.
